Presets

Social image sizes without uploading

Each platform wants a different frame. PixShrink’s size presets export those dimensions on your device: YouTube 1280×720, Instagram post 1080×1080, Instagram story 1080×1920, LinkedIn 1200×627, and X 1200×675.

Default is no preset — the same longest-edge cap as before. When a preset is on, Crop fills the frame (drag the preview to reframe). Fit & pad letterboxes instead. Quality and output format still apply. Files never leave this tab.

How to use a size preset

  1. Step 1

    Open the compressor

Go to the PixShrink home page. There is no sign-in.

  2. Step 2

    Pick a preset

Choose YouTube, IG post, IG story, LinkedIn, or X. None restores longest-edge only. You can still change quality and JPEG / WebP / PNG / AVIF.

  3. Step 3

Choose crop or pad if needed

Crop fills the frame. After you drop a photo, drag the crop box to pick the region, or zoom in. Unedited files stay center-cropped. Fit & pad keeps the whole photo and adds bars (white on JPEG, transparent on PNG, WebP, or AVIF).

  4. Step 4

    Drop photos and download

Batch up to 20 files, including HEIC. Check the before/after sizes, then save locally.

What the numbers mean

YouTube thumbnails are 1280×720. Instagram feed posts are typically 1080×1080. Stories and Reel covers are 1080×1920. LinkedIn link previews sit around 1200×627. X post images work well at 1200×675.

These are common working sizes. Always check the destination if an upload is rejected.

Keep-original vs presets

Without a preset, PixShrink keeps the original bytes when encoding is not smaller. HEIC is always converted. A size preset always exports the chosen width and height, because the point is the frame, not a byte-for-byte original.
