Convert HEIC to JPG without uploading
iPhone photos often save as HEIC. Many websites, email clients, and Windows apps still expect JPG. PixShrink decodes HEIC on your device and encodes JPEG, WebP, PNG, or AVIF in this tab — nothing is uploaded.
Match original treats HEIC as JPEG so you get a file other people can open. Quality and longest-edge controls are the same as for any other photo. If one HEIC cannot be decoded, that row shows an error; the rest of the batch continues.
How to convert HEIC in the browser
Step 1
Open the compressor
Go to the PixShrink home page. There is no sign-in. The page is the tool.
Step 2
Drop .heic or .heif files
Use the box or Choose files. You can mix HEIC with JPG and PNG in the same batch, up to 20 images, 40 MB each. Files stay in memory here.
Step 3
Pick JPEG — or another output
JPEG is the safest default for sharing. Choose WebP or AVIF for a smaller file, or PNG if you need a lossless graphic. Set quality around 75% and cap the longest edge at 1920px when you do not need full camera resolution.
Step 4
Download the converted file
Check the before and after sizes, then save locally. HEIC is always converted, even if the new file is a bit larger, because the original format is hard to open elsewhere. Close the tab and the originals leave with it.
Why HEIC conversion stays on your device
Camera-roll photos are often personal. This tab reads the file with local APIs, decodes it here, and encodes the format you chose. Closing the tab discards the bytes unless you downloaded a result.
The site still loads ordinary page files. Your photos are not among those requests.
When a HEIC file errors
A damaged export, an unusual HEIC variant, or a phone that ran out of memory can fail. PixShrink shows that on the file’s row instead of dropping it from the list.
Try exporting again from Photos, converting one image at a time, or lowering the longest-edge cap. Live Photo HEIC files use the still frame.
